This was a one-of-a-kind weekend. For those that didn't know, our hometown hero Therese Lizardo was a contestant in the Miss America Pageant (pics to follow as soon as I feel like putting them up). I made the trek to AC with Lynn and her family and so began my free weekend complete with comps.

Apparently they made some changes to this year's pageant which made the event completely shitty. They announced the top 10 finalists about 10 mins. into the show, so already about 80% of the audience has divested itself of interest in the rest of the competition; there is also a 'casual wear' portion of the show; and the two finalists have to square off in a talent competition near the end. I did some fact-finding and it seems the Pageant was at an all-time low in terms of viewers last year--only about 10 mil. people tuned in. This got me thinking about how the show was done this year and I forgot that the host was from a reality show. So if you combine lower ratings with the reality show influence (casual wear, talent-off, host) it all equals a crappy program, but one hoping for bigger ratings. I don't know what the ratings were for the program this year, but I wish I could have pressed fast-forward. Regardless, congratulations to Twit, our reigning Miss Foggy Bottom 2004. I then went on to lose a bill in the casinos, so after the pageant and the gambling, all-in-all it was a gender-confusing weekend for me, but nevertheless well worth it.

In other developments, I started Mike Mentzer's H.I.T. weight training schedule. If anyone has tried this let me know how it worked out for you. I puked twice in the gym today, but I've followed this regimen in the past and it's been great. I just never stuck with it. But, I think I'll do it now since time is very scarce. OK all, bonne semaine!
